# ZeroOmega (ex-SwitchyOmega) (Browser Extension)

> Set up and manage your catproxy.io proxies with fine-grained control using the powerful ZeroOmega browser extension.

ZeroOmega (ex-SwitchyOmega) is an advanced proxy management extension for Chrome and Firefox. It's perfect for developers who need to create custom rules for when and how to use a proxy.

### Step 1: Install ZeroOmega

First, install the ZeroOmega extension from your browser's official store:

* **[ZeroOmega for Chrome](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/pfnededegaaopdmhkdmcofjmoldfiped)**

### Step 2: Create a New Profile

After installation, the ZeroOmega options page will open automatically.

1. Click **New profile...** in the left sidebar.
2. In the popup window:
   * **Profile name:** Give it a clear name, like `Catproxy Residential`.
   * **Profile type:** Select **Proxy Profile**.
   * Click **Create**.

</Frame>

### Step 3: Configure the Proxy Server

Now, you'll configure the new profile to use your catproxy.io proxy.

1. **Protocol:** Select **HTTP** from the dropdown menu.
2. **Server:** Enter `proxy.catproxy.net`.
3. **Port:** Enter your proxy's specific port number (e.g., `5555`).

</Frame>

### Step 4: Add Authentication

Since our proxies require authentication, you need to add your credentials.

1. Click the **lock icon** next to the port number.
2. A new window will pop up. Enter your `Username` and `Password`.
3. Click **Save changes**.

</Frame>

<Info>
  **Tip for Geo-Targeting:** You can easily switch countries by creating multiple profiles in ZeroOmega, each with a different geo-targeting parameter in the username (e.g., `PROXY_USERNAME-country-de` for Germany, `PROXY_USERNAME-country-fr` for France).
</Info>

### Step 5: Apply Changes and Activate

Finally, save your configuration and start using the proxy.

1. Click the green **Apply changes** button in the left sidebar to save all your settings.
2. Click the ZeroOmega icon in your browser's toolbar.
3. Select the profile you just created (`Catproxy Residential`).

<Frame caption="Select your new profile from the extension's popup menu to activate it.">

Your browser traffic is now routed through your catproxy.io proxy. You can verify this by visiting an IP checker website like [IPinfo.io](https://ipinfo.io/what-is-my-ip). To disconnect, select **Direct Connection** from the ZeroOmega menu.
